Congratulations Dr. Mentzelos Melistas and Dr. Thomas Melistas! Dr. Mentzelos Melistas Graduation year: 2021 Thesis: Reduction and torsion points of abelian varieties Advisor: Dino Lorenzini Future position: Postdoctoral researcher at the Steklov Institute of Mathematics My research lies in the fields of number theory and algebraic geometry. I completed my Ph.D. in May 2021. In the Fall of 2021, I will be starting as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Steklov Institute of Mathematics in Moscow, Russia. Dr. Thomas Melistas Graduation year: 2021 Thesis: Large Scale Geometry of Overtwisted Contact Forms Advisor: Michael Usher Current position: Postdoctoral researcher at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology My doctoral research was on the fields of Symplectic and Contact Geometry. I studied the space of dynamics on a contact manifold under the assumption of overtwistedness. Currently, I work as a researcher at Technion implementing ideas and tools, such as persistent homology, which I studied and used during my thesis in other frameworks within the Symplectic and Contact context.
