The Mathematics Department offers financial support to all PhD students as long as they are making satisfactory progress toward their degrees. In recent years we have only been able to provide financial support to a small number of our Masters students. Summer support for PhD students is sometimes available but not guaranteed. Available support includes the prestigious Presidential Fellowships for five years, Graduate Teaching and Research Assistantships, Graduate Financial Aid, and Graduate school Scholarships & Fellowships. The University of Georgia publishes an official Cost of Attendance. The Cost of Attendance does not include the cost of Health Insurance. The Mandatory Student Health Insurance Plan is required for graduate students receiving Qualified Graduate Assistantship, for instance for graduate students receiving a full tuition waiver as part of their graduate assistantship award. In past years, the assistantship covered half of the cost of the plan.
